Before attending university I completed an Art Foundation course. I then studied for three years at the Birmingham School of Jewellery, which is part of Birmingham City University and situated in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. I completed my degree in 2001 with First Class Honours.

After university I lived in London for a short while where I worked for Lara Bohinc, a European company renowned for its design, craftsmanship and quality. I thoroughly enjoyed creating jewellery but realised my main passion was in teaching after I spent a year in Japan teaching English to children and adults. I travelled home to England, from Japan, overland from Malaysia on the Trans Mongolian Railway through Siberia and Russia into Europe.

On my return to England I moved to Manchester to undertake a PGCE to qualify me to teach art and design in secondary schools. I now live and work in Sheffield where I aim to inspire the pupils that I teach by using the skills and experience I have gained through my education and travel.

I met my husband whilst I was in Japan. When we married in 2009 I found it very difficult to find a hairpiece to match my dress and the image that I had in my mind. This led me to begin designing and creating hair pieces for weddings and other occasions. I enjoy working to commission and will work with my clients to incorporate your ideas and elements from your wedding or evening dress. Hairpieces

I have retained my interest and passion for art and enjoy painting, using a variety of techniques and mediums. I produce art work for sale, through local and national galleries, but mainly work to commission. Paintings
